With Christmas only a few weeks away, Chicago parents are busy trying to find good deals on gifts for family and friends, but a recent survey shows that they also should be on the lookout for potentially hazardous toys.

Illinois PIRG released its 29th annual “Trouble in Toyland” report at Lurie Children’s Hospital  Wednesday. The report lists 24 toys that might be harmful to children and highlights three types of hazards: toxic metals, choking hazards and excessive noise. The report urges parents to read warning labels on toys and stay informed on the latest product recalls.
