Students from Alcott College Prep in Logan Square were treated to a surprise visit from rapper B.O.B. , most known for his best-selling song “Airplanes.” The high school students won the opportunity to meet the musician by placing first at the halfway-point of a 14-week competition called “Get Schooled, Get Connected.” The initiative, which encourages students to graduate and go to college, is sponsored by Comcast, Get Schooled, and more than 40 other community-based organizations. The challenge requires students to complete tasks such as filling out college applications and financial aid forms in order to win badges for their school. The school with the most badges will win a party with an A-list celebrity in January.
